RESEARCH PROJECT
Research Question: Which digital engagement strategies are most effective in enhancing comprehension and emotional responses to reparative justice content?
Team members: Alejandra Beltran and Li Lindsey.
Teamwork Reflection:
For me, working with Li was really a great experience. Right from the start, she was a phenomenal team member, very helpful and always energetic when getting her work done. I found her really responsive to any request for her assistance in getting work done. Overall, the collaboration with Li was easy and straight. Whether tough work or tight deadlines, Li followed with great positivity and responsibility. And that kept us on track to creating something great together while giving us that environment to cope up with the hard work.
Dependability was what I admired most about working with Li. We established goals and distributed work to each other, most of the time bringing everything in on time. That is something I’m proud of because it proves that staying organized is an important part of our goals. Li’s effort to combine work with efficiency was one of the great things that kept us on a steady pace and ahead of schedule. Her contributions made an actual difference, and I always felt supported knowing I could rely on her to do her part no matter what.
As we finish this semester, I find myself looking back on what we’ve accomplished with pride and anticipation for what is coming next semester. There’s much more to do regarding enriching and refining what we’ve done, taking it to the next level. Li’s creativity and commitment to excellence will no doubt play a major role in the final stages of this project, and I am confident that we will get a good grade.
This has been a great experience and she has so much to teach. I have enjoyed her dedication and teamwork throughout.
In this project we used quantitative information to support arguments and draw logical conclusions. This was one of my goals for the semester and here is an example of where this concept could apply:
This experiment aims to investigate the emotional and cognitive responses of participants engaging with different tools designed to teach about the history of slavery and the concept of reparative justice. Specifically, the experiment will compare the effects of immersive digital engagement tools against traditional engagement methods. Our independent variables are the types of Digital and traditional engagement tools. Our dependent variable, which is the emotional response after both engagement methods, would be assessed with a positive or negative emotions scale rate. There is no control in this experiment since it’s comparing various methods. There is not an initial one that we are comparing it to.
