REFLECTION #4
This semester has been full with ups and downs, learning, and prideful moments. One of the most challenging aspects of the project was a teammate who really put in little to no effort during the entire semester. After several attempts to include him and support him, he did no work but remained part of the team. This was a frustrating situation for the rest of us who put in 100% effort, and it just felt like we were working unevenly because he still got credit. Even though this wasn’t the best way to deal with it, it really taught me about patience, communication, and team dynamics.
On a more positive note, I am proud of what we achieved as a team. What we produce is something that every single one of us can be proud of. The presentation at MOBOT went quite well, and their feedback was motivating. We were able to present the hard work we put in, and I’m pretty sure they were impressed by all of our projects.
This experience taught me much of what is needed to make a project of this size from ideation to execution, to the struggles of coordinating and motivating a team. It was a deep dive into things like project management, problem-solving, and creative collaboration. Also, I learned quite a lot about reparative justice.
I want to see our work implemented next semester. It feels awesome that we created such a great groundwork, and I have high hopes that the product will continue in evolution and positive influence.
