My Journey
Four months ago today I began to prepare to move into what would be my new life. A stage that certainly had me full of uncertainty but the excitement was always present. It is very difficult for me to try to write about all the incredible things that I have experienced in this first semester because it would take me an entire book to do it.
The friendships I made in this first semester are friendships that will last forever. From this semester I would like to keep in my heart a lot of funny moments with some of my classmates while we were doing our projects. I was able to learn a lot from all my classmates. I learned to evaluate who I like to work with and with whom it takes me a little more.
One of the things that used to cause me the most insecurity was having to present in front of my classmates because when I am under pressure my English is terrible. I go blank and forget what I want to say. However, I noticed that a lot of CODES scholars always supported me and were always there to cheer me up no matter what.
One of my works that I am most proud of is:
I felt free to express my point of view regarding MOBOT. The freedom that my teachers gave me allowed me to expand my vision and see beyond my eyes. One of my main goals was to improve my English and feel comfortable and I can proudly say that I achieved it. I love socializing, I love talking about my culture and my history.
My Source Analysis #5 is one of the assignments that I liked the most because I took a risk by handing in a job that was different from what my teacher asked for. By this I mean that I took advantage of this opportunity to express all the information I collected during my visits to MOBOT and I loved the result of my work.
My first impression of the MOBOT was captured in a video I recorded in which I expressed my opinion about it. I loved visiting this place because the peace it transmits makes me remember my childhood in my grandmother’s house with hundreds of plants. I would visit this place thousands more times.
These were my favorite places in the MOBOT.
My digital project 1 was a little difficult to write. I have a lot of stories to tell and a lot of experiences that have brought me to the place I am today. Remembering all those experiences moved many feelings in me and I think it cost me a little to have to remember the bad things but my heart was filled with joy when I saw all the opportunities they have given me and how I got here.
One of the things I have liked to do the most is learn to edit videos and websites. I consider myself a creative person and I love having the freedom to be creative in my projects. Based on my teacher’s expectations, I learned to edit my work digitally.
As a bonus I want to add that I really value my colleagues on my research team as well as my professor. The connection we built from day one is incredible and I wouldn’t change it for anything. It is my small family and the constant support between us makes us strong and a team that I believe has delivered quality work. I am excited to spend the next semester with my classmates and see how we progress.
