I decided to use the Madison County Historical Society Archival website cause it is the first one that caught my attention. At first sight, I noticed that the website is pretty colorful, and it catches your attention pretty easily which is a really good point; attractive visuals are really important to catch your audience’s attention.
The Madison County Historical Museum and archival library is dedicated to preserving the history of Madison County, Illinois, for the purpose of understanding its people, culture, and community. It’s owned and maintained by the society. MCHSA relies on generosity from the community to fund operations, generate educational resources, and provide outstanding programs all year.
The Madison County Historical Society was formally organized in 1916 but remained inactive until 1921 when the new charter aimed to “stimulate a general interest in the history of Madison county; to encourage historical research and investigation; to collect and preserve all forms of data bearing upon the history of Madison county.”
They have an artifact spotlight room where they have a couple of pretty interesting objects like an old ice saw and a Lovejoy plate. On the website, you can also find an exhibit with plenty of information and interesting artifacts that have an amazing background. Artifacts related to slavery, cooking, art, music, and farming are just a few of the ones they have.
