The Jesuit Archives & Research Center located in St.Louis, MO, stores many much information in archives about Catholic Churches and it’s history. Their mission is to fulfill it’s mission as a repository of record for the largest religious order of men in the Catholic Church. The archives provides are very neat and organized making sure that it’s a “place of memory” anad preserves the history for the community. The Jesuit Archives & Research Center makes the history and spirituality available for others to be able to cultivate with Jesuit’s identity. They also preserve the patrimony of the Society of Jesus for the future generations of Jesuits.
The Jesuit Archives & Research Center has archives all over the world such as: California, Chicago, Detroit, Missouri, New England, New Orleans, New York, Oregon, and Wisconsin. The archives are very wide spread around the world, stored with great informationcfor anyone who wants to know more about the Jesuit. Although, the information that this archive holds would not interest me. What really caught my attention is that I have never been to an archive ever. The amount of information you can learn about things that happened years and decades ago is amazing. Not even just from google but on actual documents and proof.
I am very amazed at how not only the Jesuit Archives & Research Center but even at MOBOT. They are very organized with their documents to make sure that others can learn more information about certain topics. The Jesuit archives in particular serves a great purpose in individuals wanting to learn information about the Catholic church and Jesuit. I, myself grew up going to christian schools and as I took a look at the information that these archives provide, there is alot of history that I was not taught.
