Source Analysis #4
When listening to the TED Talk by Liz Ogbu she talked a lot about gentrification which means taking from the poor mostly their neighborhood. When people participate in gentrification they are harming the innocent people that are in those communities. Something that Liz said was “Healing is not erasing pain healing is about acknowledging the pain” This made me think about the Garden and slavery. A lot of people would rather not talk about the garden they say it should be left in the past because everybody else healed from the past so they should feel like it shouldn’t be talked about anymore. Another thing that I enjoyed her saying “Hurt people hurt people and healed people heal people” That saying is true Healed people heal people because they have been hurt before and know what it takes to heal.
