Introduction

During my time in CODES, I focused on educational aspects for the environment in the SIUE and surrounding communities. I focused on researching and creating two pages on my groups āGreen Horizonā website which would be used to educate and inform others about the history of recycling and tips/diys that could be done at home.

About the Problem
I learned that the problem that most high schools have is not giving students an opportunity to learn and know about the environment they live in. I wanted to make a change, as a future educator, to give people the knowledge and understanding of the environment they live in. By creating a recycling timeline and researching facts that were incorporated into my two pages, Iām able to inform and share the knowledge I have learned throughout my years in CODES with others.
About the Community
I learned that the community needs to be more informed and educated in the environment they live in. This project made me realize the issues and changes I need to make as a member of the SIUE and surrounding communities.
About Myself
I learned that I work really well in individual projects that interest me especially when Iām able to use my good skills in. During my time doing my products, I discovered that I enjoy designing and making something pleasing to read and see. Using my own aesthetic I was able to make the work easy to understand, while at the same time engaging to the audience and myself.
Future Implications

At SIUE
This project helped me learn as a future educator on how to work with peers and be able to do my work appropriate for the age group intended. As I continue in SIUE I will use the collaborating and designing skills I learned for my future classroom settings in order to succeed not only as a person but as a team member in any scenario.
In My Career
My goal is to become developmental therapist and this project helped me become a more organized and patient person. I plan to use the skills I learned through codes and further enhance the skills I already had such as researching, multi tasking, and organization for my work with children in the future.
Personal Development
Using my experience in CODES, I want to continue my commitment to making peopleās life better and educating those who need it. I want to be able to take full control of difficult situations and find ways to resolve them in the most appropriate way possible.
Closing Thoughts

My experience in CODES has been very positive in both my personal and professional growth. Iāve gained a deeper understanding of the importance of knowledge-sharing and the role of education in addressing environmental challenges. Through creating informative content on recycling and sustainability, I was able to enhance my educating and engaging skills. This project and CODES overall has made me successful in the areas of research, collaboration, and organization, which I will continue to use in my future career as a developmental therapist and educator. Iām committed to applying these lessons to make a positive impact in communities.
