Dissementaion Plan

Overarching Summary

______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Our team focused on creating resources to educate and engage high school students in environmental conservation. Each product was designed to align with their interests, encourage participation, and inspire actionable change. We utilized school partnerships, social media, and interactive methods to ensure the resources reached students effectively. Below are the specific strategies for each product.

Makhia Logan: Environmental Podcast

______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Intended Audience

High school students passionate about environmental issues or looking for actionable ways to make a difference.

Dissemination Strategy

The podcast was shared with high school science teachers and environmental clubs who incorporated it into classroom discussions and extracurricular activities. Additionally, we posted short clips on platforms like Instagram and TikTok, which are popular among this demographic, with direct links to full episodes on Spotify. Flyers with QR codes linking to the podcast were also distributed at school events.

Rationale

Using social media ensures direct engagement with students in their preferred online spaces, while partnering with educators integrates the podcast into structured learning environments.

Kaz Isibue: GIS Map of Environmental Nonprofits and Green Spaces

______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Intended Audience

High school students participating in geography, environmental science, and social studies classes.

Dissemination Strategy

I will make this map public access on Arc GIS online and share it during my time at AAG 2025.

Rationale

Incorporating the map into classroom learning and club activities ensures it is both educational and engaging, while visible QR codes make access simple and immediate.

Impact of Dissemination

(To be completed post-implementation). For example: “Over 150 students utilized the map to locate greenspace near their census blocks.”)

Danahe Villaseñor: Educational Recycling Pages

______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Intended Audience

High school students interested in learning practical ways to recycle and take action at home.

Dissemination Strategy

I will make two pages on our website for the public to have access to and be able to become more educated about recycling and what they can do to help the issue. These pages will be educational and informative for high school students to learn about what recycling is, its history, and learn tips or ways to recycle from the comfort of their home.

Rationale

By incorporating a timeline, facts, and tips for recycling, it can ensure that the students and educators looking at the information can find it useful to use for workshops and newsletters that can connect with students with hands-on experiences and consistent reminders of the importance of recycling, enhancing retention and action.

Impact of Dissemination

(To be completed post-implementation). For example: “Over 150 students attended the DIY workshops, and several clubs incorporated the handouts into their ongoing projects.”)

Sean Brown: Survey and Whiteboard Animation

______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Intended Audience

High school students interested in expressing their views on environmental topics and learning in a creative format.

Dissemination Strategy

The survey was distributed through school email systems, environmental club meetings, and QR codes on posters in high-traffic areas like cafeterias and hallways.

5.6

Rationale

High school students are most likely to engage with quick, visually appealing formats like whiteboard animations, and surveys distributed in schools reach a wide, diverse audience.

Impact of Dissemination

(To be completed post-implementation. For example: “The survey received 300 responses from students, and the animation gained over 1,000 views on Instagram within the first two weeks.”)
