📘 Passing My Content Test!

I’ll never forget September 19th — the day I passed my Illinois Content Test! It felt like such a big moment after weeks of studying, stressing, and second-guessing myself. Seeing that passing score was a huge sigh of relief and a reminder that all the hard work really does pay off.
I may not know exactly where I’m headed yet, but this milestone made me feel proud of how far I’ve come and excited for whatever’s next.
🌸 Springing into Spring
Date: May 2025
Category: Coursework
One of my favorite experiences so far has been learning how to create a unit. My team created one called Springing into Spring unit for kindergarteners. My team and I created lessons for students to explore everything about the season — weather changes, plants growing, bugs buzzing, and how our clothes change when it gets warmer.
I learned how to meet standards and make everything I make developmentally appropriate. 🌼
✨ Finding My Voice in the Classroom
Date: October 2025
Category: Reflection
There was a day this semester when my coordinating/mentor teacher had to take a sick day, and I was asked to take the lead. I’ll admit, I was nervous! But once the day started, everything fell into place. The kids knew our routines, trusted me, and we had such a smooth, fun day together.
That experience showed me how much I’ve grown since starting this program. It’s crazy to think that just a year ago I would’ve been scared and now I feel ready to take charge when needed.
💬 Partnering with Families

Category: Connection
Something I’ve been thinking about a lot lately is how important family partnerships are in early childhood. Parents know their kids best, and when we work together, it makes a huge difference.
In my placements, I’ve learned that simple things, like friendly newsletters, quick chats at pickup, or celebrating small successes, can go a long way.
