This year with codes, I learned a lot about myself and changed many things in my education journey. I decided to stick with Early Childhood Education and continue a path for teaching little kids. I always knew I had a passion for working with kids, I thought nursing was the way to go but then come to find out it was education all along. My route has changed and so has my goals, I have a more clear vison of how I want my career to be. As of right now I want to teach either Kindergarten or Pre-K and I will still continue to do my best and thrive in my academics as I reach that goal. I am trying to become as involved as possible with the education world so I became the vice president of the PTA for Kreitner Elementry School.

As I move into my final CODES course, the program has informed my sense of self in the context of community because it has helped me become more aware of not only my community but the community of others. NGRREC has been a big factor in giving me the chance to learn about the Alton community and what my group and I can do to help expand the knowledge of the people and things going on around them.

My work in CODES informed my approach to coursework in my major and career plans by giving me a sense of the people and places around me. Learning information and knowing how to apply it to real life scenerios is a skill I was introduced to and will continue to use as I work towards my career.
