This article by the Pew Research Center in Washington D.C. talks about research that they did with over 9000 adults asking about how they consumed news media. The article has some examples on how people use the internet and social media in general more than other forms of media. As technology has advanced more and more people in general use the internet for many different reasons including convenience.
The image above shows how younger people under 50 will be more likely to use the internet as their primary source of news. The entire article basically talks about how we have been moving towards an internet era in terms of news and media coverage.
The importance of this paper is to show that people in general get their news and information from the internet, therefor it is important for NGRECC to try and get a bigger internet presence to spread the word of climate change to the masses. The abstract just introduces the topic mainly and how they started off the study and wanted to see how many people used the internet compared to other news outlets. The conclusion explains how they were right in their hypothesis that many many people use the internet as their primary source of news and how this digital era is important for news media to expand in.
