My name is Eriel Johnson, and I am a sophomore at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville studying graphic design while building multiple streams of income through my creative work and business ideas. I enjoy combining creativity with purpose, whether that\u2019s through design or learning new skills like cutting hair, with plans to get my barber license in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For my Community-Oriented Digitally Engagement Scholars (CODES) project, I contributed by researching amphibians to make sure the Jackie Joyner Kersee Food and Agriculture Center (JJK FAN) campus design would properly fit their needs and not harm them. This experience taught me how important it is to design with intention and consider the environment and impact of my work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Through my experiences in school and creative projects, I\u2019ve learned discipline, attention to detail, and the importance of thinking beyond just aesthetics.
