Introduction

This spring semester felt as if it went by in a blink of an eye! This semester feels a lot easier than last semester because last semester, I was struggling to figure out how all these topics and assignments tie to each other. This semester felt pretty easy since all the assignments had clear and set instructions. We had to do a lot of data analysis and cleaning of data. Having Dr. Smith as our CODES teacher this semester has been simple since she is a very helpful, especially with technology, and a straightforward person. I’m excited to continue working with my fellow classmates in CODES!

1st Goal

(20%) Information literacy: 5A Defines the scope of research questions effectively and selects information cogently to express them.

I annotated readings and articles to get a better understanding of the topic I’m trying to understand.

2nd Goal

(20%) Quantitative literacy: 10A Skillfully represents quantitative information.

I applied the Ted Talk to the research and surveys I’ve been conducting because bringing everyone’s perspective is the only fair thing to do. (Danger of a Single Sided Story)

(I went through multiple data sets from the St. Louis area and decided to make a table to better understand the quantitative data of crime rates in St. Louis.)

3rd Goal

(20%) Ethnical Reasoning: 3A Identifies and analyzes their core beliefs and reflects upon their origin.

(This picture shows that in interview reflection, I reflected upon how I gave out the questions and how I could’ve done it in a better way.)

4th Goal

(20%) Critical and Creative Thinking: 2C Transforms ideas through synthesizing knowledge from multiple domains.

(These pictures shows that I synthesized this transcript into making a good reflective paper.)

5th Goal

(20%) Collaboration: 12C Works independently towards goals and meeting deadlines.
