Global Learning

This goal stood out to me because I would like to learn more about problems that are going on beyond just my point of view. To improve at this, I intend to engage in and be prepared for readings and class discussions to learn about multiple worldviews, cultures, and experiences. I will provide 2-3 of my reflections that reflect my discussions on global issues. I will use the summary and reflections to reflect on issues. I will attend and actively listen to class discussions while trying to add something to at least 75% of the discussions (I’m new within CODES, so I’m not used to having to speak up in class, so I want to try and get out of my comfort zone). I will complete the weekly reflections and answer the questions it is asking entirely. Lastly, I will prepare for the class sessions.
Information Literacy

I chose this goal because it’s good to take in and retain information in various forms instead of just one way. With this, I plan on collaborating with my research group and developing a research question and hypothesis to back it up. I will analyze different sources of evidence for the research report. To support that, I will provide my research question, literature review, literature analysis, reference page, and annotated bibliography. I will perform “excellent” work according to the research report rubric and for the research report.
Problem-Solving Skills

I chose this goal because I like coming across a new challenge, figuring out how to do things, and learning different ways. This will be shown through class lectures on course content to learn how to solve problems, provide a jigsaw, and achieve an average of 75% on my exams. Since I’m not the best test taker, I would want to keep my test scores from bringing my grade down because that doesn’t summarize my work within the class.

Quantitative Literacy

This goal will help me be able to read and understand data. This goal will be accomplished through class lectures and work to learn how to analyze data, analyze various data sources for the research report, and perform “excellent” work according to the research report rubric. I will provide the proposed experiment that we created during our project.
