• Major: Mass Communications- Media Productions
  • I have chosen Mass Communications as my major because this field offers knowledge of various media, not just one. I can learn one type of Media or all which is beneficial for me because I could earn money in different ways and not be limited to just one. I also joined the Media Club in my junior year of high school and enjoyed every second of it. This is why I chose to continue this path.
  • Career interests: After earning my bachelor’s degree I plan to work for ESPN as a sportscaster. My major is important to help me reach this goal because if I join the right clubs and jobs such as the SIUE athletic production crew, I can get the preparation I need beforehand.
  • Courses Completed: Sign Language: I learned how to sign the ABC’s and numbers 1-60. I also learned how to read and conversate with ASL.
  • Writing for the Media: I learned the proper way a news story is supposed to be written. I also learned the order of events and where they need to be to have a interesting story for readers.
  • English 125: I learned about African American writers. I also learned the history of slaves and some stories of specific escape routes.
  • CODE 120: I learned how to research , work with groups, give discussions and about wicked problems. I also learned a vast amount about water infrastructure.
  • CODE 121: I learned to analyze text, make videos about a specific text, give presentations, and how to make a digital map.
  • Future Courses:
  • FL 102: I hope to get more fluent, learn how to comprehend fingerspelling quicker, and get more familiar with past words I learned. I also would like to go interact with more deaf people at events.
  • CODE 123: I hope to continue to learn how to analyze texts better, apply research to reality, and work with my classmates on projects.
  • MC201: I hope to learn about the many Media effects on society in different ways.
  • CODE 122: I hope to learn and do more research about water infrastructure. I also would like to do hands-on work with our community partners.
  • ENG 225: I would like to know more about African American writers and poetry.
