I\u2019m <strong>Jay&#8217;len Alcin<\/strong>, a Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering student at SIUE, originally from Tampa, Florida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I consider myself a dreamer\u2014someone driven by a big imagination and an ambitious mindset to push the boundaries of what\u2019s possible. Whether I\u2019m writing code, designing in CAD, or prototyping, I thrive on turning complex, abstract concepts into real-world technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hands-On Experience &amp; Research<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My technical journey has taken me into university labs and across international borders:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Leadership in Robotics:<\/strong> As Team Captain in the <strong>Autonomous Robotics Club (ARC)<\/strong>, I led a team through the design and assembly of a functional robotic arm.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>URCA Research Assistantships:<\/strong> I completed two Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities (URCA) positions at SIUE\u2014developing a large-format FDM 3D printer and conducting research on extraocular vision.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>International Collaboration:<\/strong> I spent a year studying abroad in Germany, collaborating with an international team of nine to design an automated assistance robot that aids electricians working at elevated heights.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Innovation &amp; Independent Study<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Outside of formal coursework, I constantly explore the intersection of technology, human potential, and creation:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Robotics &amp; AI:<\/strong> I am developing a personal companion robot that I&#8217;m integrating with AI features, aiming to build an interactive, JARVIS-style assistant.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Personal Research:<\/strong> Beyond hardware, I conduct independent research on the subconscious mind, dreams, and self-development to better understand human potential, mindset, and peak performance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Creative Pursuits &amp; Hobbies<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When I\u2019m not engineering, I focus on artistic and physical balance:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Visual Arts:<\/strong> I am actively learning 2D\/3D animation, refining my drawing skills, and writing original stories to bring visual ideas to life.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Staying Active &amp; Engaged:<\/strong> Playing sports, gaming, and reading.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Languages &amp; Culture:<\/strong> Practicing my German, which I sharpened during my year abroad.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Looking Ahead<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I am currently seeking an engineering internship where I can apply my skills in robotics, research, and technical leadership. Long term, I plan to launch a company in the defense industry focused on advanced technologies, while eventually founding a <strong>STEM Academy<\/strong> to help the next generation tap into their creativity and build big ideas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hi!
