(20 %) Based on: Collaboration (12.c)- Working independently when needed with the effort of completing team goals. | – Participating in class/group discussions. – Using this goal outside of class like in clubs or work. – Staying organized and setting expectations for myself and the team. | – Taking Notes – Working alongside research team. – Using a planner for myself and team to stay on track. | – My writing shows how much information I retain. – Proof that my group communicates well. – Assessing if plans get pushed back, or if we follow the schedule. |
(20 %) Based on: Reading (11.a)- Evaluates texts’ scholarly significance to apply reading to other contexts or issues. | – Complete readings assigned from class through an appropriate lens. – Talk with research team about learnings from readings during group time. – Apply my readings from my media law class to contexts discussed in CODES, if applicable. | – Samples of the thorough reflections I write over the readings. – Images of our group discussions in the IRIS Center. – A selection of cases that might support contexts/issues relating to research team topics and/or CODES themes. | – Going over any feedback given about reflections and improvements needed to be made. – Have a meeting about what I learned from my research team in group discussions. – Analyzing how the teachings from my media law class overlap with issues looked at throughout the CODES program. |

(20 %) Based on: Civic Engagement (1.b)- Use my academic studies to make connections and engage with public concerns. | – Try to connect readings, assignments, and research to my products. – Ask questions and dig deeper. – Attempt to find ways my academic studies can relate to public concerns we discuss in CODES. | – Analyze research team survey results to consider ways of engagement with the public. – Connections I make with my fellow research teams’ products. – Utilized what I’ve learned in class and bring it to life through forms of volunteering in the community. | – Survey results can tell whether or not mentoring/after school programs are helpful and if more can be done in this area. – Analyzing my connections with others shows the value my products bring to the whole website. – Discuss the impact I made while volunteering and how I applied my studies within the community. |
