1. Video Artifact
The video above was created from my CODES 121 class for our 2nd Digital Project. I’m including the video on this page because I’m very proud of it, especially because of the work I put in to create it. After being given the assignment I learned a little more about creating an outline, working with a friend, and editing clips together. At first it was difficult figuring out what I wanted to do, but eventually I found my footing and got the project done. “If you’re going to do something, do it with your all.” That’s a motto I try to live by, and this video is proof of that (even if it isn’t Oscar worthy). Looking back on this assignment I made it more difficult in my mind then what it actually was. If I’m ever given an assignment similar to this one, I’ll be able to know how to approach it this time so I won’t be as stressed out about it. It’s all a simple process when you take a breath, and I can handle doing that.
2. Summer Success Program Artifact
This image was taken in the summer of 2022 on the last day of the Summer Success Program that I participated in. We all had just came back to our dorms after receiving the awards we earned and were finishing packing our things up. I wanted to take this photo with my awards, so I could send it to my parents. “Guess who received the most awards?,” I told them. Not only were they so proud of me, but so was I for myself. I could have been working over the summer, or relaxing at home until I would have to leave to go to college, but I decided to use 5 of my weeks to take 3 classes, and earn some more college credits. Although it was stressful at times doing my homework and completing the readings, I made sure it would eventually all get done. Not only did this experience give me an early lead on ‘college life’, but I also learned about SIUE and Edwardsville. I can’t forget to mention that this was also where I met the friends I still hang out with now. Overall, the program taught me that I still have room to grow, and I’ll continue doing just that over the course of my life.
