Growing up in Batesville gave me a strong sense of community and taught me the value of working hard. Moving away from home pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me become more independent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When I first started college, I thought I wanted to go into cybersecurity. Over time, I realized that what I enjoyed most was working with people, helping solve problems, and being part of a team. That is what eventually led me to switch my focus to Human Resources. Changing my major was a big decision, but it helped me find a path that feels more natural to me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Joining Alpha Psi Lambda has also been a major part of my college experience. It gave me a group of people I could grow with and helped me become more open about asking for help and expressing myself. It also helped me become more confident and comfortable building relationships with people from different backgrounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My jobs have helped me grow in a different way. Each one has taught me something about how I work with other people and how I handle responsibility. Panda Express has probably had the biggest impact on me. After being promoted, I started taking on more responsibility with training new employees and helping work through conflicts between coworkers. Those experiences made me realize that I enjoy helping people learn, improve, and feel supported, which is another reason I feel HR is the right direction for me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-social-links is-layout-flex wp-block-social-links-is-layout-flex\"><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I am originally from Batesville, Arkansas, and moving to Illinois for college was a big change for me.
