First-Week Introduction
The goals that I’ve chosen for this semester/year is ethical reasoning, global learning, information literacy, skills for lifelong learning and written communication. I’ve chose these outcomes to strengthen my critical thinking skills, learn how to think and adapt to different cultures and different perspectives that I’m used to and grow in ways that I’ve struggled in from the previous semesters. I’m excited for all assignments this semester. I feel as if none would be as challenging as it seems if i ask for help and use my resources. Using the resources around me and asking for help and improving on my note taking skills will help set myself up for a successful future.
Midterm Introduction
[Speak about the skills and content youโve learned during the first half of the semester. What did you most enjoy? What did you struggle with? What goals do you think youโve most excelled at meeting and what do you want to continue developing during the second half of the semester? What goals havenโt you yet met, and how will you make them a priority in the second half of class?]
Final Introduction
[Now that the semester is over, use your introduction to reflect in-depth on your process. How well did you meet the goals you set out to meet? What did you learn that surprised you? Focusing on your goals for this class, what do you want to remember to take with you into your future courses? What strategies can you use to continue developing toward these goals?]
Course Goals
Choose five goals from the CODES Student Learning Outcomes that youโd like to work toward. Choose goals that are relevant to the scope of this course, select artifacts/examples based on activities assigned for this course, and explain characteristics in a way that illustrates how your artifacts/examples demonstrate your progress toward the goal.

Ethical Reasoning: Recognizes multi layered ethical issues and the cross-relationships among them
What will you do to learn the content/ develop the skill? | What examples will you add to the portfolio to demonstrate your learning? | What characteristics of the chosen examples demonstrate you have met your goal? |
1. I will take stand at recognizing the stakeholders causes in the research problem 2. I will use different types of data to come together with research team and figure out how different people from different backgrounds, areas, and cultures have the same common problem 3. I will analyze the stereotypes that plays apart in our research 4. I will discuss with group members to see different perspectives, sharpen my ethical reasoning, and identify tensions between values | 1. I will use group meetings 2. I will use articles supporting data collected 3. I will use surveys | 1. Plan affectively meetings 2. Annotate notes and articles |
[For each 5% of effort you assign to your goal, provide at at least one example or artifact that demonstrates your learning process and shows how your made progress toward meeting that goal this semester (You would need four examples if the goal was worth 20% of your grade). Show how you have improved over time, what methods you took to grow, and talk about what you still plan to do in the future. ]

What will you do to learn the content/ develop the skill? | What examples will you add to the portfolio to demonstrate your learning? | What characteristics of the chosen examples demonstrate you have met your goal? |
1. I will be engaged in readings/class discussions 2. I will open myself up to learn from different perspectives/cultures other than the ones I’m familiar with 3. Read before class to be prepared for discussions with the class and research groups | 1. I will go to volunteer events to interact with volunteers to figure out our research question 2. I will use research that has been collected from different backgrounds to include a wider scope of information | 1. I will take notes at group meetings/discussionsย 2. I will annotate readings and notes 3. I will stay prepared and on top of readings so that I can be engaged in discussions |
