I am double majoring in criminal justice and sociology. I chose to do this because I want to help people in a bigger way than I am now. I want to help reduce violence, and give people who have done wrong a chance to change. I hope to be in the FBI as a criminal analyst but I will probably gear more towards state police as a detective or ICE if the FBI does not work out for me. I have completed 2 Criminal Justice classes, one being Intro to Criminal Justice where I just got a run down about how the Criminal Justice system works. The next Criminal Justice class I completed is Intro to Corrections. This was a more in depth learning process about how jails and prison systems along with treatments work. I completed a Psychology class where I just learned how the brain works along with thought processes. I have completed different CODES classes that have made me think in more than just criminal justice ways in different situations. I have also completed Anthropology in which I learned more about how people are connected through land, race, class, etc. For my future classes I definitely want to take more Criminal Justice courses. I feel I can’t get enough of them. The material I learn in those classes comes to me so easily, I feel like I belong.
