Introduction
During this semester I have learned a handful of skills, recording skills, editing skills, speaking skills, and gathering information that is more detailed. I think what I enjoyed most was the video scavenger hunt. I loved to do something different and get out of the class. This had me partner with a peer and we turned an assignment into something fun. I struggled a lot with learning how word press works. most of the assignments will be turned into word press and design the website. Its a work in process but it will improve, eventually. I was most excited to improve on team goals! I love working with other people other than just myself, so when I work with others I feel more into the assignment not just for myself to get it done, but for my partners to get it done and understand it as well.
Goal 1 (10%)
Accesses information using effective, well-designed search strategies and appropriate sources
This goal goes more into our digital project number 2. In this project I read an article and took that information from the article to make a video explaining and analyzing the article. Using helpful information from the article along with looking at the pictures to backup the information being told in the article was crucial. I wish the information I did gather was more in detail with the article, but practice makes perfect.
Goal 2 (15%)
Demonstrates a through understanding of context, audience, and purpose.
This goal also goes into the digital project number 2. When explaining the article or writing the script, this shows I understood the context of the article.
Goal 3 (30%)
Develops clear, innovative central messages with significant supporting materials.
Brainstorming activities we did in class shows how many supporting details can go into one subject. This shows that thought processes and go on forever. The more supporting details you come up with, the more in-depth you can go into a subject. I think I did a really good job on this goal with not just looking at one simple topic, but everything that connects with that topic as well. Another example of this would be my digital project 1. In this project I told a story and then summed the story up with supporting details to give a lesson.
Goal 4 (40%)
Works independently toward team goals by contributing to efforts and meeting deadlines.
Working on the video scavenger hunt is great evidence for this goal. We worked in partners to finish an assignment to turn in on time. Not just thinking on finishing our own assignment, but our partners too. Digital project 3 is another good example for this goal. I worked in a group of three to get an essay and a group presentation done before the deadline. I believe that I did really well on this goal. I love working with others and love helping others so this goal was very easy for me to reach this goal.
Goal 5 (5%)
Uses Quantitative information in connection with the arguments or purpose of the work.
Using the map from the digital project 2 in the article is perfect for this. I wish I would have used more quantitative data, but this is a great example of this. The numbers represent how many areas have found a “bomb” in their backyard.
