CODE 320 is the final course for the Community-Oriented Digital Engagement Scholars Program, where students integrate their learning from the past two years into a digital project. This project focuses on a community issue in Alton, which students have studied using interviews, surveys, and experiments. The goal is to create multiple products that tell the story of Alton’s relationship with a community organization and the identified issue. As the problems are complex, students must reframe their understanding and use tools like cultural remix, graphic design, creative writing, and data visualization to present their analysis.
