First-Week Introduction
I choose my 5 goals hoping to improve on my data analysis, being able to analyze and communicate that knowledge others. This semester I’m excited about getting the opportunity to be at the JJK foundation more and teach a lesson. At the moment my group is planning to do a water infrastructure fair with different tables that have interactive activities that teach kids about plants. The most challenging assignment will be data collection, I believe this because getting in contact with the community can be a challenge at times. One strategy I want to set to make myself more successful is using my time wisely. Time management is great skill especially codes making use of your time and staying ahead will help me better my end result.
Midterm Introduction
[Speak about the skills and content you’ve learned during the first half of the semester. What did you most enjoy? What did you struggle with? What goals do you think you’ve most excelled at meeting and what do you want to continue developing during the second half of the semester? What goals haven’t you yet met, and how will you make them a priority in the second half of class?]
During this semester I enjoyed getting the chance to research so many fun ways to educate kids on science, it allowed me to to see science education from a different perspective. The goal I excelled at the most is goal 7a because of the research I’ve done. I’ve researched many different lesson plans that have allowed me to compile my own lesson to teach the youth about the importance of soil. In the second half of the class I plan to focus on my presentation due to that being a major of the rest of the semester, I will be demonstrating after I have learned after the water fair and how it has impacted the kids at JJK.
Final Introduction
[Now that the semester is over, use your introduction to reflect in-depth on your process. How well did you meet the goals you set out to meet? What did you learn that surprised you? Focusing on your goals for this class, what do you want to remember to take with you into your future courses? What strategies can you use to continue developing toward these goals?]
Course Goals
Choose five goals from the CODES Student Learning Outcomes that you’d like to work toward. Choose goals that are relevant to the scope of this course, select artifacts/examples based on activities assigned for this course, and explain characteristics in a way that illustrates how your artifacts/examples demonstrate your progress toward the goal.
Goal 1 (20%)
Based on 1c: Demonstrates ability and commitment to collaboratively work across and within community contexts and structures.
| What will you do to learn the content/ develop the skill? | What examples will you add to the portfolio to demonstrate your learning? | What characteristics of the chosen examples demonstrate you have met your goal? |
| – communicate with other team members – Taking notes during community partner meetings | -notes from community partner meetings -notes from site visits community partners -Group work split up in docs -Final presentation | -Communicating with community partners and other team members efficiently |

This one of the many ways my group chooses to staying organized using google docs. We split up any group work on Google drive and make sure all of our documents are stored in a CODES221 folder that is shared with everyone.

This is the doc I used to note take during our meeting with Zach. He gave many recommendation for my lesson and I was very grateful for all the feedback provided.

My group collaborates using a iMessage group chat. We regularly remind each other of important reminders, and help each other on assignments. This demonstrates my proficiency of working well with others
Goal 2 (20%)
Based on 7a : Explores a topic in depth, yielding a rich awareness and/or little-known information indicating intense interest in the subject.
| What will you do to learn the content/ develop the skill? | What examples will you add to the portfolio to demonstrate your learning? | What characteristics of the chosen examples demonstrate you have met your goal? |
| -ask questions during discussions -using credible resources for research | -annotated bib -Reflection 2 -Lesson plan research notes -Reflection 3 | -participating in class discussions -Reflections are well written |

In this artifact I explain the key stakeholders in our our implementation which is our students. My research on water conservation and curriculm helped me develop my response

This artifact shows the annotated bibliography I made while analyzing different lesosn plans. This required to me to look at many different sources and find sources that I could implement at JJK

This artifact is reflection one, I explain obstacle I’ve face during my reaserach process and success I’ve had. In addition I also explain steps I’m taking to become a better team member and leader in my research team

This is my Lesson Plan for my station at the Water Fair. I’m still researching and planning this lesson, I plan to make this lesson plan very in depth. With the intention of this lesson being possibly done at different schools its important for me to do extensive research to have an insifghtful lesson.
Goal 3 (20%)
Based on 12c. Works independently toward goals by contributing and meeting deadlines.
| What will you do to learn the content/ develop the skill? | What examples will you add to the portfolio to demonstrate your learning? | What characteristics of the chosen examples demonstrate you have met your goal? |
| -submitting work on time -On task during class | -Reflection 3 -Questions for community partners -Reflection 2 -Final Project Slide | -Meets deadlines -On task during class |
[For each 5% of effort you assign to your goal, provide at at least one example or artifact that demonstrates your learning process and shows how your made progress toward meeting that goal this semester (You would need four examples if the goal was worth 20% of your grade). Show how you have improved over time, what methods you took to grow, and talk about what you still plan to do in the future. ]

In this article I discuss what I’ve to help implement water conservation education at JJK. After researching I’ve compiled lesson plans to have a water fair at the JJK foundation.

This artifact is my lesson Plan procedure, planning a lesson has required me to do research and analysis on multiple lesson plans. I’ve choose to specifically focus on lesson plans that are engagin for students.
Goal 5 (20%)
Based on 5b: Accesses information using effective, well-designed search strategies and appropriate sources.
| What will you do to learn the content/ develop the skill? | What examples will you add to the portfolio to demonstrate your learning? | What characteristics of the chosen examples demonstrate you have met your goal? |
| -Researching from credible websites -citing sources correctly | -reflection 3 -Notes on plants for lesson -annotated Bib | -information is well formatted and organized -All sources are cited and credible |

In this artifact I have collected multiple lesson plans on plants for kids. Specifically focussing on lesson plans that are engaging for students , this annotated bibliography also discusses my likes and dislikes of each source.
