Reflection 3 CODE320
The process of giving and receiving feedback for me is usually a compliment sandwich. As a future educator I believe it’s important that everybody can voice their opinion even if someone doesn’t agree. It is also important to foster an environment where group members speak freely because everybody should feel included and heard. My personality is more laid back and easy going so I generally tend to lean more to the decision that makes everybody happy. Sometimes this conclusion is hard to reach but that’s why it’s important to vocalize your opinion. Something I can do to give better feedback is asking questions, this will help me better understand what the other person is saying rather than giving a simple yes or no. I believe asking questions shows that you’re paying attention and engaged in a topic. In addition, asking questions in certain situations could be seen as a sign of gratitude showing the other person that you care and want to understand what the person is talking about. On a surface level I receive feedback extremely well and will do whatever it takes to correct any mistake on my end. I will admit sometimes I may take feedback to heart but I do believe in having a sense of urgency to fix a mistake. At the end of the day I want information to be correct and any feedback is useful. I’m very appreciative of the group I have in code because we have never had any issues and always have done quality work. My group works well because we are organized, communicate well, dedicated, and engaged during class. My group has a google drive folder that we keep all our CODES assignments in, we divide work up in google drive so people know exactly what they’re working on. My group holds each other accountable and reminds each other of deadlines. Honestly this has been the most productive group I’ve been a part of throughout school. They motivate me to be my best, seeing each other work hard in class and the dedication they have in their own major classes inspires me to put my best foot forward.
