Goal #1:

(20%)

Based on (learning goal from CODES):

Critical and Creative Thinking

Don’t play it safe every time, take a risk every once in a while

The evidence I wrote that I was going to use was two different assignments one from the beginning of the semester and one from the end. I couldn’t find any assignments from the very beginning of the semester, since we did a lot of discussions and not as many written assignments but I did find two documents from October where we did some research on climate change. One document showcases research we had done on climate change in New York and how it affected different communities there. The second one I found was a document where we had done climate change research on a local community and then a different community that was bigger and farther away, I did my research on Italy.

These are screenshots of the research on climate change in New York
This is a screenshot of the local vs global climate change research that we had done,

Goal #2

(20%)

Based on (learning goal from CODES):

Global Learning

Read new things about the place and culture you are going to be learning about that way you know a little bit before starting

We read quite a few articles over the semester relating to a few different subject areas, we read about climate change and how it affected different places in the world. I didn’t take screenshots of very many of them but I decided to include a screenshot of the final project we did for the YWCA where I chose an article about racial injustice in the healthcare system, and I focused on women’s reproductive health in my research.

These are screenshots of my piece of the charter we did for the YWCA.
This is a screenshot of the main article I used for my part of the charter.

Goal #3

(20%)

Based on (learning goal from CODES):

Intercultural Knowledge and Competence

Ask questions about different cultures to people from the culture or people who know a lot about it

When I was getting artifacts together for this final, this one was the trickiest to find something for. Then I remembered back when we had the first Dr. Smith, we did some research about climate change which included asking some of the people in the MUC what they knew about climate change and we asked if they would be okay with being recorded by camera and audio and I still have the audio recordings.

Goal #4

(20%)

Based on (learning goal from CODES):

Problem-Solving Skills

Use the critical and creative thinking skills to come up with more than one way to solve a problem in case plan a doesn’t work

I would say over the semester we as a group had to do a lot of problem solving and having back up plans or making accommodations pretty quickly. Another example I will use is a project we did in our other codes class because the group I was in had trouble getting everyone together and getting everyone to do their part so we had to do a little switching in order to make sure everything was covered and done.

Goal #5

(20%)

Based on (learning goal from CODES):

Collaboration: ask questions in class so that outside of class I know what I am doing and can come with my share of whatever needs to be done, done

I don’t have any screenshots of chats or emails or anything but last semester I made sure that if I came up with questions outside of class I would email someone or I would ask in the group chat we made for our research team. Not only in the research team but I asked questions in our main CODES class chat as well. I’m gonna give Arri a shoutout really quick because she answered every question with absolutely no judgement.
