Template for a Class Portfolio
Introduction
Midterm: Skills that I’ve learned during my first semester of school are better studying habits, taking advantage of resources, and planning. This semester I most enjoyed the site visits as a whole because it gave a sense of a break from the classroom while still learning. I struggled with time management because I learned realized what all I had to do until assignments kept stacking up. A goal I want to continue developing over into the second semester would be public speaking and a goal I thinking I’ve most excelled at during the first semester would be charting my assignments/quizzes to stay organized. Work on paragraph structure.
Final: Skills I want to keep working on for next semester procrastination, working more on paragraph structure, and public speaking. I want to keep working on procrastination because some times I still wait to the last minute to due my work which sometimes works in my favor while other times it doesn’t. With public speaking when I know that everyone is looking at me I tend to forget everything that I’m supposed to be presenting.
Goal 1 (30%):
I will develop understanding and creative messages that have relevant supporting materials in my writings and presentations.
The feedback given by Dr. Shea opens my eyes as to how my work should be constructed
Goal 2 (20%):
I will research other core beliefs and study how they could possibly tie into my work. (Will be changed to goal 9B)
This piece of evidence is a screenshot of me widen my thinking as to how communities can come together to solve their wicked problem.
Goal 3 (20%):
I will strive for knowledge of new information beyond the classroom.
Although this was a previous project, when the source analysis centered on Flint, Michigan was assigned my mind immediately went to this project. My mind immediately went t this project because I would incorporate some of the information and knowledge from this project in my source analysis.
Goal 4 (20%):
Throughout this course, I will learn to voice my opinions loud, clearly and confidently
After our site visits to Jackie Joyner Kersee Fan and Heartlands, Dr. Shea gave everyone an opportunity to say what they liked and found interesting about both JJK Fan and Heartlands Conservancy after our visits. Also when we went over the source analysis’ we were assigned I was able to go over my portion of the source analysis confidently I was able to voice my opinion confidently without being judged.
Goal 5 (10%):
Demonstrates ability and commitment to collaboratively work across and within community contexts and structures.
When assigned to my new group for the final project I communicated all my ideas with my group and did my portion of work on time.
