Reflection 1:

This semester I plan to revise the map of our website, by hopefully taking a trip to Cahokia Heights driving around to add and take away businesses onto the map. Hopefully I can take a trip to Cahokia Heights because last year I never really had a sight visit and on top of that I never had time or a way to really get out there and see for myself which businesses were there and those that weren’t. Going to Cahokia would show exactly what businesses didn’t exactly show up on the web when I was making my list that would be converted into a map for our website.

Second sources that I could use to bolster my previous research would consist of asking students that are from that area about the businesses that they see on a day-to-day basis. Last semester I would ask Keith and Aiden certain questions pertaining to double my list of businesses before they were uploaded onto the site, but since I only asked them to double check my list the adding on portion wasn’t exactly achieved at that time.

My writing for the residents of Cahokia Heights. Our app aims to give the residents helpful and necessary resources to help the situations they are in, being that they aren’t receiving the help needed from their government. With the residents of Cahokia Heights being in mind, it will force me to make sure that revisions are accurate and on point. They will force me to make sure that my revisions are accurate and on point because I don’t want to be part of the reason why they are receiving simply human decency.

Reflection 2:

As of right now, the plan is for my work to reach not only the residents of Cahokia Heights as a resource but also to reach different government officials. I plan for my work to reach residents of Cahokia Heights because my map will serve a visual resource for their basic needs.  I would want my work to reach different government officials because it will show exactly how they them not listening to the residents have drastically impacted their everyday lives in terms of resources.

As of right now. I think the relevant stakeholders pertaining to my work would be Cahokia Heights residents, possibly local business corporations, and possibly government officials.

The residents have shaped my work because the list of businesses that were then converted into a map, was created so that the residents know which local businesses are still actively in business. Another reason the list and map were created is because it poses as a resource to support their different needs. I think local businesses corporations might shape my work because when these businesses are shutting down there is no notice being given to the residents, nor are a lot of these businesses giving notice whether they will be returning or not. I feel like local government officials might shape my work because I am helping to give the reisidents the resources that they need, since their local government officials wont listen to their concerns and take them into serious consideration.
