My Journey

Being at SIUE has taught me that you are who you say you are! Chase your dreams and don’t care what nobody else thinks. It may come with a lot of highs and lows but you are simply in a space where you’re doing it for you and nobody else. Being in college has opened my eye and changed my perspective on a lot and is bringing growth in certain areas of my life.

Being on my own actually shows me how much room I have to strive for myself. I tend to not let the bad that has happened during my time here take over. I am genuinely happy about these next steps that’s helping me build my future.

I joined the SIUE Gospel Choir to keep me sane while not using my gift as frequently as I was when I was home. I also attend Friendly Temple Church in St. Louis that reminds me so much of my church at home.
