My Journey
Being at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville has taught me that you truly are who you say you are. I’ve learned the importance of chasing my dreams and not allowing the opinions of others to define my path. College has brought both highs and lows, but it has also shown me that this journey is about doing what’s best for me and building a future I can be proud of.
My time at SIUE has opened my eyes and changed my perspective in many ways. Living on my own has revealed just how much potential I have to grow and achieve on my own terms. Despite the challenges I’ve faced, I’ve learned not to let difficult moments overshadow my progress. Instead, I focus on staying positive and embracing each step that helps shape my future.
To stay grounded and connected to my passions, I joined the SIUE Gospel Choir, which allows me to continue using my musical gift and find peace through song. I also attend Friendly Temple Church in St. Louis, which reminds me of my home church and gives me a sense of comfort and community.
Through this journey, I’ve come to value self-growth, faith, and perseverance, qualities that continue to guide me both personally and academically.
