About Me

HELLO!

¡HOLA!

BONJOUR!

GUTEN TAG!

SALVE!

KONNICHIWA!

My name is Nyah, or as peeps senior year used to call me, Big Dawg 🐺.

I attended and graduated Hazelwood West High School in St. Louis, Missouri. There I participated in many different associations such as Track and Field, Cross Country, theater, choir, FCA, National Honors Society, West Prep, Wildscats, and Pep Club. I graduated in the top 10% of my class and was named as Magna Cum Laude.

As a senior, I broke a school athletic record in Track and Field in the triple jump event. Though I did not plan to continue as an athlete for college, how well I did my last year changed my mind. I decided to reach out to coaches for SIUE and was able to get a spot on the team.

For my time at SIUE until my anticipated graduation year of 2026, I plan to participate in and accomplish a number of things that range from sports, internships, academia, many clubs and organizations, working on campus, etc. etc..

While attending the university, I would like to learn as much was possible as an Exercise Science major. As a career, I would want to become a personal and/or athletic trainer and help people reach their goals within the fitness world and anything else that correlates with their health and well-being.

Outside of academics, most of my time is spent doing track and field, fitness classes, spending time with friends, working, playing piano in the dorm halls’ activity wing, trying to learn new things and generally improve myself as a well-rounded person.

As a student, I have worked to overcome laziness, not being motivated all the time, and being consistent. Then trying to balance extracurriculars and other commitments has been a challenge but something I have gotten a little better at.

I am one that loves to be around people, do meaningful yet enjoyable work, and just enjoy life while not taking things too seriously.
