My name is Nyah Williams, an undergraduate senior attending Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville. I am majoring in Exercise Science. As a career, I would want to become a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach as well as a certified Personal Trainer. My focus would be to help people reach their goals within the fitness realm and anything else that correlates with their health and well-being.
I am apart of the first cohort for the Community-Oriented Digital Engagement Scholars (CODES) scholarship program. During my time in CODES, I have been well equipped with skills and resources for starting and doing service for different types of communities, particularly within the Metro East area.
Outside of academics, my other college ventures consist of training and competing for my sport, as I am a D1 Track and Field athlete, working on-campus jobs, being involved in different organizations and leadership positions. All while also trying to learn new things and generally improve myself as a well-rounded person.
With my free time I enjoy spending time with people and family, reading, being physically active, playing musical instruments, serving in church, going to the movie theater and doing random side quests.
I am one that loves to be around people, do meaningful yet enjoyable work, and just genuinely enjoy life while not taking things too seriously.
