Introduction
MINDTERM: I most enjoyed the Digital Project #1 in terms of it being about myself. It is a topic I know the most about (obviously), and I had fun writing the essay. I struggled with staying on top of required readings outside of class and the Digital Project #2. It is because of poor planning on my part and the fact that I was unsure of exactly how to go about doing the project. I honestly am not sure what goals I excelled best with. I want to continue to try to develop all of my weak points because they definitely still need some work. Plus my time management skills and academic work ethic.
END-OF-YEAR: My learning process throughout this course has been different in terms of the combination of subjects that has been used to further my academic skills. The beginning of the term was when I was just trying to get an understanding f what the class would be like. The middle was quite frankly, a bit rough for me due to more personal circumstances. The end has been a time to get things together and do better with what is expected of me. I believe I did better with Digital Project #3. Mostly due to the fact that there were others working on it too so that lessened the load and didn’t feel like too much responsibility put on myself. Motivation to do my part and knowledge of people counting on me made me want to work diligently. The project also encouraged me to engage further with my group and other peers. As I was to conclude the project, I had to be open to hearing their reasonings behind why they picked their focus points for the project.
8.A (15%)
Efficiently utilize a comprehensive structure when I present my work
I had someone peer review my work which shows how I was proactive in getting another perspective. He gave me tips on things I could add or enhance to make my work overall appear better.
I would try to gather the information and visuals I was going to use in Project #2 before writing the script. Though it don’t put it all in a specific order until I actually would work on the script itself, this helps me to get enough essential ideas and thought-processes to touch on in the video.
13.B (15%)
Gain the ability to use captivating and applicable topics to show how well I understand them, while accurately projecting and representing the author’s handiwork
This shows how I would practice gaining understanding of others’ work in class and try to learn something from it to apply to my work.
While writing, I would often search up different ways to say things. Whether it’s to be more comprehensive for others to understand or honestly to sound smarter and more educated than I actually am. Though it also helps me further my vocabulary to better express what I want to convey.
2.D (20%)
Reshape ideas from different and global interpretations of things I investigate having to do with the topic in hand
I would take detailed notes on required readings and then annotate them to get a better understanding of the interpretation of different life experiences.
We were to find our articles on our own for Research Teams and summarize what they were about in a few paragraphs. I try to pinpoint what I think is most important and varying points of views within that article and include it in the paragraphs.
1.C (10%)
I will try my hand at being a leader during activities
During this class activity, I was proactive in sharing ideas, researching and trying to convey these things to the group to work towards our common goal.
I have highlighted things from the work of my group to be included in my part of the project. I wanted to make sure I could properly summarize what they researched and evaluated themselves. Plus extracting details form other articles to be added to the conclusion in efforts to enhance the evidence of our hypothesis.
Researching on my own shows how I take initiative to be more inclined to lead
7.B (40%)
Strive to always learn and continue to be a “student” outside of the classroom
I did my own research outside of the required multimedia article that I chose that gave me further knowledge of the topic to better enhance my work.
Sometimes, took really grasp what I have read for something, I like to analyze it. I mostly do this for movies by looking up reaction and analytical videos that try to explain more than just the plot but also themes and things I might have missed. I did the same for Salvage the Bones by looking up chapter summaries and analysis to get a different perspective of how something could have been interpreted through the reading. This really helped me with my discussion prompt.
For Digital Project #2, I wanted what I had to say and show in the video to be completely planned out. I had much to talk about concerning the article and topic, so I didn’t want to miss anything. This shows my complete thought process and detailed writings of the script.
