First-Week Introduction

I chose these five goals because they are topics that I would like to improve on. I also chose those goals because I felt like this class would provide a good amount of proof for them. I think the goal Civic Engagement, “Demonstrates ability and commitment to collaboratively work across and within community contexts and structures” will be the hardest to improve because I have to show commitment to working with the community partners. Sometimes we can go to our partners for help with our project if need be. The assignment I am the most excited to do is creating a survey and sending it out. the assignment I think that will be the hardest is finding all the proof I need to have for my contract. the strategy that I want to set for myself to make sure all my work stays done stress free is not waiting to do it at the last minute. I will try to be proactive in getting my homework done.

Midterm Introduction

This semester I have learned a lot more about water. For example, in one of our source analysis articles I learned there is actually enough water on the earth for everyone but it’s just not evenly distributed or its polluted. What I enjoyed the most about this semester was driving to heartlands with my group listening to music. I feel like it was one of the best bonding experiences. this semester I wanted to improve my communication with my classmates and that is something I am still struggling with. the goal I think I excelled the most in is Reading, which evaluates texts’ scholarly significance to apply reading to other contexts or issues. I have improved this skill by analyzing source analysis. I still have more room to improve as far as it goes with this goal. A goal I haven’t met yet is Civic Engagement, which demonstrates ability and commitment to collaboratively work across and within community contexts and structures. I don’t feel like I have had as many chances to meet this goal like I have with the ither goals.

Final Introduction

[Now that the semester is over, use your introduction to reflect in-depth on your process. How well did you meet the goals you set out to meet? What did you learn that surprised you? Focusing on your goals for this class, what do you want to remember to take with you into your future courses? What strategies can you use to continue developing toward these goals?]

Course Goals

Choose five goals from the CODES Student Learning Outcomes that you’d like to work toward. Choose goals that are relevant to the scope of this course, select artifacts/examples based on activities assigned for this course, and explain characteristics in a way that illustrates how your artifacts/examples demonstrate your progress toward the goal.

Civic Engagement, Demonstrates ability and commitment to collaboratively work across and within community contexts and structures (20%)
Based on (INSERT NUMBER AND LETTER OF GOAL from CODES Student Learning Outcomes): Write out Goal in your own words

What will you do to learn the content/ develop the skill? What examples will you add to the portfolio to demonstrate your learning? What characteristics of the chosen examples demonstrate you have met your goal?
I will be consistent in doing my part in group projects.  Communicate with jjk Do my part in group projects Communicate with heartlands Turn in a completed group project Positive group attitude towards me Positive attitude towards me from Professor
This picture was taken at heartlands which is proof of us collaborating and brainstorming together on improving community structures.

On research projects I will practice using secure and valid sites for information.  Work cited pages Source in presenting in group projects  Properly formatted work cited page Teacher approved citations

When we are out of class, and we have a group project I will put in extra effort. Outside classroom work Turning wok in for the group turning in work in on time  Responsibility Extra effort collegiality
This is a great example of working for the group but independently. we all have to have our own notes and questions for out group discussions, but it is still something we work on as a group. I had to make sure I did my part and have something to say in the group discussions. having more to say in the group discussions is something I would like to improve on.

This is a short conversation with my group trying to figure out if we had a source analysis and if we do that everyone has something ready to talk about.

Reading, Evaluates texts’ scholarly significance to apply reading to other contexts or issues. (20%)

Pay close attention to what I am reading and apply it to other things I read Source analysis Issues we learn about through the course Zotero lists Patience Time towards reading Comprehension of reading Thorough source analysis

Good proof of this goal would be my source analysis because we always use the source analysis to apply them to another context and what we might be working on for our group project.

Written Communication, Demonstrates a thorough understanding of context, audience, and purpose. (20%)
