First-Week Introduction

I chose these five goals because they are topics that I would like to improve on. I also chose those goals because I felt like this class would provide a good amount of proof for them. I think the goal Civic Engagement, “Demonstrates ability and commitment to collaboratively work across and within community contexts and structures” will be the hardest to improve because I have to show commitment to working with the community partners. Sometimes we can go to our partners for help with our project if need be. The assignment I am the most excited to do is the final project presentation. presenting is a skill I am looking forward to improving on. The strategy that I want to set for myself to make sure all my work stays done stress free is not waiting to do it at the last minute. I will try to be proactive in getting my homework done.

Midterm Introduction

This semester I have learned a lot more about how to survey and different group projects. For example, in one of our source articles I learned there is a lot of students that use chat gpt to cheat are students that didn’t cheat before but felt like they were at a disadvantage. What I enjoyed the most about this semester was just the atmosphere of the class and our group discussions. This semester I wanted to improve my communication with my classmates and that is something I am still struggling with. The goal I think I excelled the most in is Reading, which evaluates texts’ scholarly significance to apply reading to other contexts or issues. I have improved this skill by analyzing our articles. I still have more room to improve as far as it goes with this goal. A goal I haven’t met yet is Civic Engagement, which demonstrates ability and commitment to collaboratively work across and within community contexts and structures. I don’t feel like I have had as many chances to meet this goal like I have with the ither goals.

Final Introduction

[Now that the semester is over, use your introduction to reflect in-depth on your process. How well did you meet the goals you set out to meet? What did you learn that surprised you? Focusing on your goals for this class, what do you want to remember to take with you into your future courses? What strategies can you use to continue developing toward these goals?]

Course Goals

Choose five goals from the CODES Student Learning Outcomes that you’d like to work toward. Choose goals that are relevant to the scope of this course, select artifacts/examples based on activities assigned for this course, and explain characteristics in a way that illustrates how your artifacts/examples demonstrate your progress toward the goal.

Civic Engagement, demonstrates ability and commitment to collaboratively work across and within community contexts and structures (20%)

What will you do to learn the content/ develop the skill? What examples will you add to the portfolio to demonstrate your learning? What characteristics of the chosen examples demonstrate you have met your goal?
I will be consistent in doing my part in group projects.  Communicate with jjk Do my part in group projects Communicate with heartlands Turn in a completed group project Positive group attitude towards me Positive attitude towards me from Professor

I struggled to find visual proof for this goal, but I do have an example of it. the day we had class in the library was the first time this part of codes was working in groups. we had a small project that also demonstrated us using our ability to collaboratively work across and within community context and structures. in the small project we talk about different branches of problems then research articles with good information. I will have more proof of this goal by the end of the semester because we will have a final group project.

Information Literacy, Accesses information using effective, well-designed search strategies and appropriate sources. (20%)

The information I used to write about reflection 6 is an appropriate source. The same can be said for the other two pictures being the annotation and top 5. in both of those writings my information came from creditable sources we received from the professor.
What will you do to learn the content/ develop the skill? What examples will you add to the portfolio to demonstrate your learning? What characteristics of the chosen examples demonstrate you have met your goal?
On research projects I will practice using secure and valid sites for information.  Work cited pages Source in presenting in group projects  Properly formatted work cited page Teacher approved citations

Collaboration, works independently toward goals by contributing and meeting deadlines. (20%)

What will you do to learn the content/ develop the skill? What examples will you add to the portfolio to demonstrate your learning? What characteristics of the chosen examples demonstrate you have met your goal?
When we are out of class, and we have a group project I will put in extra effort. Outside classroom work Turning wok in for the group turning in work in on time  Responsibility Extra effort collegiality

I don’t have any visual evidence for this goal but when we had class in the library was our first time working as a group in this class. we were working on a small group project. at some point we all had our own separate jobs we had to complete on our own. I was responsible for researching an article to help with the project. this is a good example of working independently toward goals by contributing and meeting deadlines. Next semester I will have more proof for this goal because we will have a final group presentation.

Reading, evaluates texts’ scholarly significance to apply reading to other contexts or issues. (20%)

What will you do to learn the content/ develop the skill? What examples will you add to the portfolio to demonstrate your learning? What characteristics of the chosen examples demonstrate you have met your goal?
Pay close attention to what I am reading and apply it to other things I read Source analysis Issues we learn about through the course Zotero lists Patience Time towards reading Comprehension of reading Thorough source analysis

The three pictures below are all writings from articles and chapters out of a book we had to read for class. In my reflection 6, annotation, and top 5 I am evaluating texts scholarly significance to apply reading to other context or issues. We typically discuss in class how we can apply what we read in our readings to our class and our projects.

Written Communication, Demonstrates a thorough understanding of context, audience, and purpose. (20%)

What will you do to learn the content/ develop the skill? What examples will you add to the portfolio to demonstrate your learning? What characteristics of the chosen examples demonstrate you have met your goal?
Source analysis  Group discussions  Source analysis  Examples from our group discussions  Precision writing  Comprehension  Purpose

The three pictures below are all writings from articles and chapters out of a book we had to read for class. in my reflection 6, annotation, and top 5 I am demonstrating a thorough understanding of context, audience, and purpose. I read the readings in class then communicated my understanding by written communication.
