So far, through the interviews that I have coded there are a few common themes. First, and probably the biggest one, is the importance of family. Nearly all of the participants so far have answered that family is one of the three most important things to their lives. There have even been a few participants who have said that their siblings have gone down the wrong path, but that they still view them as some of the most important people in their lives.
Another common theme that I have seen is needing a strong support system, primarily from home. Some of the participants have said that a big factor in them not going down the wrong path is a home support system. This doesn’t necessarily need to be a parent, with one participant even saying that it was their siblings that offered the strongest support.
