Our team’s process of choosing products and deciding on how to complete our final project has been easier than I thought. For the past two years, it has been difficult to effectively manage responsibilities between all of us. It’s important to consider that now we’re in our upper-level courses, which means we need to be more responsible, and I think that has shown itself, at least in the short amount of time that’s passed. Reading through sections of Emergent Strategy made me reflect on other challenges that our team has faced. First, I thought about how much that we have had to adapt so far. We lost a couple of instructors and a community partner, which made it much more difficult to have a sustainable long-term goal for our research. We eventually pulled through, and we came out with more tools at our disposal. We ended up, without even realizing it, developing the skill of adapting to changing circumstances, which is a key theme in the sections we read. I think that after reading this, I’m much more aware of some of the soft skills that we have been picking up as a team, and just how well we can work together. With that in mind, I think that this semester will have challenges that we aren’t prepared for. However, I also think that we will be quick to find new strategies that allow us to complete our tasks.
