The idea that all beings—human and non-human—are interconnected fosters a sense of responsibility toward the environment, urging me to be more conscious in my daily choices. This principle can be reflected in how people build relationships, not just with other humans but with all aspects of the world. I think this reading really emphasised how knowledge from a text book isnt always the answer, in some cases the answers lie in the culture and community. Whether through traditional practices, languages, or philosophies, land-based pedagogy emphasizes the importance of knowing where you come from and finding belonging. Her call to embrace different ways of learning has motivated me to seek out and respect diverse perspectives beyond what I’ve been taught. I was reminded of the importance of the natural world. This reading has re-enforced the fact that not all things are learned from history books, it could be something as simple as a family tradtition, recipie, or the story of how my grandparents met. This reading also helped me refocus on the products we are suppose to create, merging knowledge with expereince . Overall, “Land as Pedagogy” has shifted my perspective, making me more aware of the relational and embodied ways we learn from the world around us, encouraging me to deepen my connection with nature, community, and cultural knowledge.
