About Me

Greetings! My name is Venus Morgan and my pronouns are They/Them/Theirs. My hometown is Springfield, Illinois and I graduated with Honors from Lanphier High School in Class of 2024. During high school I spent most of my time working and doing volunteer work for the National Honors Society. Being in honors made it more difficult for me to understand what I wanted to do after high school, but after pondering I came to a general idea.

My major at Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville is Psychology with a minor in Chemistry and Sociology. I chose this degree because I find the wonders of the mind very interesting and I want to be able to help people. The career that I hope to have from this is something such as researching the mind/body, affects drugs have on the body, and most importantly, researching the difference in the body between sexes. I’m expected to graduate in Class of 2028.

In my free-time, I commonly reach for a book to read or an album to listen to. Both of these art forms have been significant parts of my life since before I can remember. Reading is important to me because you can learn so much through a book, but also because it can be an escape. Likewise, I feel the same about music but It is much more prominent in my everyday life. I love all types of music and I collect physical media such as vinyl, CDs, and cassettes. Also, I love to spend time thrifting. Second-hand shopping means a lot to me ethically, but also being able to have pieces that have a prior story and uniqueness. I also love to spend time with friends in which we usually go on nature walks, shopping, or spend time talking.
