My Journey

During my first semester at SIUE, I learned many new things rather it be educational wise or about stuff of myself. One thing I can say is CODES definitely brought a lot of joy into my life. I’ve made powerful connections with my peers and the reason I mention this is because I’m not the type of person to make friends off rip. I had the oppurtunity to work in groups with others, which I can say I’ve improved my engaging skills because of this, We did a lot of public speaking exercising which helped alot with our final project presentation. Not to mention, I learned a lot of information about environmental stuff surrounding us such as water infrastructure problems.

This is a picture of a greenhouse. We attended The JJK FAN Innovation Center and walked around their property which I would say was probably the highlight of this semester for me. I got to see how people are really trying to help East Saint Louis and there are stuff being done to speed up the process. I have never been inside a greenhouse so I’m really glad I got to expereince that with CODES. Although I’m keeping this short and sweet I will like to highlight that no matter what I was going through, how hard it was to keep myself pushing, I did it. I finished my first semester with a lot of guidance from my peers.
