FIRST – WEEK Introduction
For this Spring semester, I hope to finalize and perfect my group’s research in water conservation education. This semester, I want to refine and explore ways to improve my educational games for kids with a background in water sustainability.
Midterm Introduction
Now that I am halfway through this 2026 spring semester. So far, my group and I have been working on building a blog as our emplace contribution, where we can explain to the public and other college students around the state what our research is on and how far we have come. I have also worked on reflections, helping me think further about how to build the blog and explain my area of research by making a game that teaches water conservation concepts.

Goal 1
| What will you do to learn the content/ develop the skill? | What examples will you add to the portfolio to demonstrate your learning? | What characteristics of the chosen examples demonstrate that you have met your goal? |
| 12A Helps collaboration move forward by articulating the merits of alternative ideas. | I will learn to improve my collaboration skills through workshops and group work. | – Reflection 1 – Small group work – writing workshop 2 – small group work; polishing individual work |
For goal 1, so far I have helped the group think about different ways that we want the project to approach our research and how we want to make a positive impact for better change in the teaching of education, and why it’s so important to learn how conservation and your resources, in our case, it’s water conservation. For the most part, I help make sure the group is on track and catching up on updates from the group. I also make sure that our group’s research is organized using Google Docs and folders, giving us easy access to our past work and notes we have taken along the way that help us publish our work.
Goal 2
| What will you do to learn the content/ develop the skill? | What examples will you add to the portfolio to demonstrate your learning? | What characteristics of the chosen examples demonstrate that you have met your goal? |
| 9A Constructs insightful problem statements with evidence of relevant factors. | I will learn how to improve my research to my modifications through my work and assignments | – Reflection 2 -Emplace contribution -small group work ; research team faculty – draft of individual contribution |
For goal 2, I have worked with my group in changing the way we want to present our research through a blog. We found it easier to break it down into different tabs with goals. I had a tab specifically for my water words wonders where I briefly explained what my part of the water fair moving future was. I helped with ideas on how we wanted to start our blog that was different. As a group, we were able to think of a starting approach with a few quick fact questions that go back to our survey from 2 semesters ago, which were every important to understanding the struggles that related to our overall research.
Goal 3
| What will you do to learn the content/ develop the skill? | What examples will you add to the portfolio to demonstrate your learning? | What characteristics of the chosen examples demonstrate that you have met your goal? |
| 8A Uses clear organizational patterns and is skillful at presenting content cohesively. | I will improve my skills by organizing my research and information to build drafts and reflections showing my work | -Reflection 3 -Small group work – small work group; community partner team call – draft of dissemination |
For goal 3, I concentrated on understanding and learning through modifying my work and reflection 3. I take feedback positively and use it to improve my work, aiming for the best possible outcome. With my group, I helped improve our conclusion and structure of approach in our blog from how we wanted to present it to the public, readers, and partners that show our dedication and hard work and why our research hopes to build a difference that inspires change for all in water conservation.
Goal 4
| What will you do to learn the content/ develop the skill? | What examples will you add to the portfolio to demonstrate your learning? | What characteristics of the chosen examples demonstrate that you have met your goal? |
| 5B Accesses information using effective, well-designed rsearch strategies and appropriate sources. | I will improve my way of gathering information and the ways I want to ask questions to our partners. | Reflection 4 – small group work -dissemination -writing workshop 3 |
For goal 4, I have looked back at our past work and research that have helped us reach this point of finalising our research and contributing to making a change in education for future generations, starting with kindergartners. Our research strategy is organized into folders, tabs, and notes. From our previous work and visits with our partners JJKFAN, we have been able to have a better understanding of why changing the approach in education to more fun and interactive teaching methods improves their habits and behaviors is so important when we want to make changes that can help improve water awareness and conservation in kids’ lives, as they are the future of the world.
Goal 5
| What will you do to learn the content/ develop the skill? | What examples will you add to the portfolio to demonstrate your learning? | What characteristics of the chosen examples demonstrate that you have met your goal? |
| 4B Uses deep knowledge of global systems to develop and advocate for informed, appropriate action to solve complex problems. | learn how to improve my approach on avocating in water conservation without my work and infal presentation | -Reflection 5,2 – writing workshop 1 – small group work feedback on Emplace – final presentation |
For goal 5, I have used reflection 2 to think further about how I hope to make a change through the group research, bringing awareness and learning to kids in different ways. My way of think as change with the process of working in understanding what Emplace is and how i want people to see CODES and my water conservation research group as we have worked hard to build knwolege and understanding of the struggles that come with finding ways to change the approch of interactive fun lesson that are educational and fun for both teacher and student that improve kids learning and awarndess of nature and what is water consevation. We all know that improvement starts with small steps that later become examples for others.
