For reflection 3, my group recently had a Teams meeting to discuss our ideas with Zack and explain what we would like to present to the kids at the water fair. During the meeting, we received feedback on whether he thinks we should make some changes. I explained two ideas to the kids: a fun coloring activity where they draw their community, and an explanation of how water works in their community, including where they can make changes to reduce water waste. The second activity was a matching game where kids matched images of different water cycles and water land with related words about water conservation. Some of the words would be rainwater, the environment, wastewater, water conservation, groundwater, and contamination.

Zack gave me some tips and feedback. He mentioned that the coloring activity might be too childish for older kids, which is why he wasn’t interested in my initial ideas. However, he did seem very interested in my second idea, the matching game. I know that the age group for the water fair has recently changed from K-8 to 10-15, so now I can definitely make permanent changes to better accommodate the older kids in the water fair. However, there is a chance that Zack could get me in a small group of K-5 graders to do the coloring activities, but that is to be determined for the upcoming week. But I will still have it done just in case it does happen.
