First-Week Introduction
My goals for this semester are to focus on my organization skills as well as my writing skills as we continue to complete and assemble the final products of the work we’ve done over the past semesters. My hope is that throughout the semester I will learn more about how to compile data and research into one cohesive project as well as how to present that to stakeholders and other contributors. One thing I am excited for this semester is getting to see all of my group and I’s work together and one thing that I am nervous for is keeping up with the time management and overall work ethic that is required to go along with that. I do believe however that I will be able to overcome those challenges and still be able to have a good and cohesive product.
Midterm Introduction
During the first half of the semester, the skills I have learned have mainly been surrounding Emplace and the dissemination plan. Something I enjoyed was looking back on the work that I and my group have done and seeing how far we’ve come. One thing I struggled with was with the Emplace website and figuring out what actually goes on there and what still needs to be done. For the second half semester however, I do believe that I’ll be able to figure it out. The goals I feel like I’ve excelled at would be connecting each part of the research together and compiling the data. Some goals I do believe that I need to improve upon will be time management as well as working within the group. I hope to make those a priority in the second half semester by really being able to focus in on the work that needs to be done to make a cohesive project that is ready for the end of the semester.
Final Introduction
Throughout this semester, I’ve definitely had ups and downs. There were moments where I didn’t know what to do next with my project but there were also a lot of times where I knew exactly what I was doing and was able to perform at a top level. I feel that the most important thing is that there was both of those scenarios and I was able to push through and create a product I was proud of. I believe that through this semester I was able to meet the goals that I set for myself, even through my setbacks. I also believe that moving forward, even outside of CODES, I will be able to use this knowledge and implement it into other projects or research groups. My favorite part of it all was getting to work with people are learning more about how they interact and being able to help a community that may not have had that help if we didn’t do this project.

This is a part of the group contribution to the Emplace that I created. This shows how I took things that we learned in CODES (specifically CODE220) to help with the northern campus development.
Additionally, this is an excerpt from my individual contribution to the Emplace. In this I am talking about what can be done to keep the soil healthy after phytoremediation is put into place. This once again shows the connection between CODES and the goals of the community partner.

In this I also explained what different steps are taken in the development of the northern campus regarding the soil research. When I presented, I explained more in depth about the different variables that go into these steps and the variety of ways that JJKFAN and others can go about achieving their goals

This is an excerpt from my Reflection #2 where I talk about the two stakeholders of my soil research. This shows that I understand the different perspectives that my work will be viewed from and therefore also understand the need for multiple avenues of understanding and usage required.
This is my portion of the Emplace Contribution Plan where I briefly explain what I’ve been doing in past semesters and how I plan on revising and continuing that work through this semeseter. This demonstrates that I am working to improve upon my past work and research to make sure that it is understandable and helpful to the community partner.

This is an excerpt from my contribution to the Dissemination Plan. I explain one of my ethical concerns about disseminating my research and explain my solution to that to ensure that when my research is used by other communities, they are able to actually help their soil and ecosystem rather than harming it more.

This is an excerpt from my Reflection #2 in which I explain who I want my work to reach. This demonstrates how I am able to put my passion for the project/research and use it as a means to educate people and help them with their own issues.
This is my first draft of the individual Emplace contribution where I explain phytoremediation and it’s benefits. Through this I was able to go onto the final draft and display how my research goes in depth and the ways it can help people.
These are all excerpts from my portion of the group contribution to Emplace. In these, it’s clear that I am able to go in depth in what I am talking about and relate it back to both the definition of a wicked problem as well as our personal wicked problem.

This is an excerpt from my individual contribution to Emplace. In this I both introduced myself to familiarize the reader with who is speaking/writing. I also made a small graph to explain what makes up the soil research that I performed. This way, the reader knows what they are getting into when recieving the Emplace.
