First Draft of Emplace Contribution:

Working with JJKFAN, we found a lot of information about the state of the soil in the area where the northern campus will be created. The main issue was with the contamination of the soil. By looking into the processes of phytoremediation, I found that this would be one of the most efficient ways to help the soil de-contaminate itself and bring back the opportunities for native plants to grow and increase biodiversity. Additionally, to maintain the healthy soil once that status is achieved, I found that by keeping the iron and phosphorus levels up, the soil can continue to self-sustain so that the risk of contamination will be significantly decreased.
