Jada is a rising junior at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE). She is majoring in Criminal Justice with a minor in forensic science and pre-law. Post graduation she plans on getting her Master’s in Forensic Science. She will then work towards her career end goal of being a forensic scientist, specifically blood splatter analysis. Criminal Justice was not her first choice, Jada was a nursing major prior, but after having some time to think she had to realize that nursing when Jada first arrived on the campus of SIUE, she wasn’t a Community-Oriented Digital Engagement Scholars (CODES) recipient yet; She received her CODES scholarship September of 2024 and has had the chance to work with wonderful instructors and peers. She has learned so much about water infrastructure, strengthening her writing and oral skills. She has also had the chance to work along side with the heartlands organizations where she has done in depth research on the city of Cahokia heights.
