I would like to stay involved on the SIUE campus as much as I can throughout these next 4 years. I am a Community Oriented Digital Engagement Scholar (C.O.D.E.S.) and a 2023 Summer Success Program participant. I am also a member of Delta Phi Epsilon Sorority. I am a History major with a concentration in Applied Historical Methods and I am also pursuing a double minor in Creative Writing and Digital Humanities and Social Sciences.
I would like to eventually work and get my Ph.D. in African American History. I find this area of study really interesting and would like to pursue research that is focused on the post-reconstruction era. One of my big goals in life is to also intern or work at a Smithsonian Museum because I vividly remember my experience of visiting these museums and how impactful it was to me at a time when I didn’t even really care that much about history yet.
Aside from school and work, my favorite hobbies include reading, dancing, shopping, and watching movies/T.V. Shows. My favorite book series is The Hunger Games and my favorite shows are currently Young Sheldon and the Big Bang Theory. I love music too and cannot go anywhere without my headphones. I am a big country music and Taylor Swift fan.
