For this reflection, we were supposed to write an audience evaluation of the multimedia journalism projects we chose. I chose “How Artists Get Paid for Streaming” by Elio Quinton.  For Elios’s article, his target audience would be aspiring artists interested in making money by producing or creating music and any streaming service users interested in where their money is going. I would need to keep his audience in mind when making my video to make my video engaging and informative.

I need to consider what my audience already knows about streaming. Streaming service users might have a basic understanding and find my analysis helpful, compared to aspiring artists who have more in-depth knowledge of the process and would appreciate the analysis of the article. They would both find it beneficial to have guidance on where to go for a full explanation of the topic. Methods that I can use to appeal to my audience would be tailoring my content by using language, visuals, and a setting if I can acquire one that resonates with them. I can also make sure that the first thing my audience sees is relatable to them. Things like my title and description. Much like how creators on YouTube use thumbnails. Also, how TikTok or Instagram uses hashtags to resonate with their specific audiences. When I make my video, I need to make sure that I do my best to resonate with and engage my target audience.
