Dear Dr. Redmond,
For the spring 2025 semester, here are ways I will demonstrate how I will achieve an A in our class. I have some skills that I am already proficient at, and also some skills that I am not as confident with and would like to improve on.
1A: Demonstrates ability and commitment to collaboratively work across and within community contexts and structures.
This section will be worth 20% of my grade for the semester.
In my words, this learning outcome means that I will be able to work well with others, not only my group members, but also the members of the MOBOT Garden Staff. I will be able to balance all of my work within this class in order to successfully be able to tell the correct stories and visions that the garden wants us to share. We also need to make sure we are being historically accurate. This is an outcome I would like to improve on.
1C: Tailor communication strategies to effectively listen, express, and adapt to others to establish relationships both in person and online.
This section will be worth 20% of my grade for the semester.
In my words, this learning outcome means that I will be able to successfully and efficiently be able to collaborate with the MOBOT Team. I will improve on my communication in order to successfully complete our project. Additionally, bonding with the garden members, in order to make our project the best it can be. This is an outcome I would like to improve on.
5B: Accesses information using effective, well-designed search strategies and appropriate sources.
This section will be worth 20% of my grade for the semester.
In my words, this learning outcome means that we will be able to use historically accurate data when storytelling. Within our tour, we need to make sure we are telling the right stories in order to have the most significance among the visitors. Also, we need to make sure we are not telling the stories wrong, so that these Indigenous communities are portrayed historically accurately. I am decent at this skill, so I would like to improve in this outcome.
8A: Uses clear organizational patterns and is skillful and presents content cohesively.
This section will be worth 20% of my grade for the semester.
In my words, this learning outcome means that I will help to organize our group. I will help organize our different roles, our shared documents that we are using together, and our overall workload. I will make sure we stay on top of our tasks in order for our stories to be clearly organized and make the most sense. I am great in this area, but I would like to keep working on this outcome.
12B. Facilitates collaborators’ contributions by building upon their contributions and noticing when someone is not participating and inviting them to engage.
This section will be worth 20% of my grade for the semester.
In my words, this learning outcome means that I will support my group members. Life happens to all of us, so I am willing to pick up the slack when my group members are having a hard time. We already have a great group dynamic, so whenever someone needs help, I won’t hesitate to help them. I also will help to build my group members up and try to compliment each other’s work. I think this is an important outcome, and I would like to improve on showing my gratitude towards my group. This gives me a good opportunity to do so.
