Dear Dr. Hildebrandt,
Here are the ways that I believe I have achieved an A in our research team.
5A: Defines the scope of research questions effectively and selects information cogently to address them. (15%)
In my words, this means that I have been able to know what questions mean and have been able to dive deeper in them. I have demonstrated this in our source analysis. I have dove deep when analyzing new articles. This portion will be worth 15% of my grade. I feel as though I struggle with really comprehending deep subjects, but I have improved this skill.
Below is an example of how I analyzed an image from the archives at the Botanical Gardens.

7 A: Explores a topic in depth, yielding a rich awareness and/or little-known information indicating intense interest in the subject. (15%)
In my words, this means that I have researched topics in order to fully understand them. I have demonstrated this in our multimodal compositions. I have demonstrated a strong knowledge in the topics. This portion will be worth 15% of my grade. I believe I am fairly good at this. I would like to still improve on my analysis skills, but overall I am fairly confident.
I have been able to demonstrate this in MC 2. Below is a list of sources I used:
I
9B: Identifies and evaluates multiple approaches for solving problems. (15%)
This means that I have tried to solve problems from different angles. I have demonstrated these during class discussions, or when trying to pick out new articles/evidence that we can use to help solve our problems. This percentage will be worth 15% of my grade. I feel as though I tend to struggle to think outside the box, so this is a skill I have improved on.
To demonstrate this skill, I had found the article below online that we will use for a future source analysis next semester.

10 A: Skillfully represents quantitative information. (20%)
This means I am able to show numerical data. I will demonstrate this by making charts and/or graphs when we are using numerical data. Also, taking numerical data notes when we visit the garden (if necessary). This section will be worth 20% of my grade. I am very good at this skill, it is very comfortable for me to work with numerical data and creating graphs and charts.
We did not have too many opportunities to work with numerical data. However, I did make several charts, in order to show our information.

12 C: Works independently toward goals by contributing and meeting deadlines. (35%)
In a group setting, I have done the work I need to do on time in order for the group to succeed. I have demonstrated this when we are working in groups, whether it be in class, or in smaller groups within our research team. This section will be worth 35% of my grade. I believe this goal can be separated into two different sections because it mentions individually, but it relates to group work. I am very good at this. However, I feel as though in working in a group setting, I have improved. I believe that I work better individually, and I believe that I have learned how to work better in a group. I always turned assignments in before the deadline and I always tried my best in a group setting to succeed.
In order to help our class grow, I took notes during our zoom/in person meeting with the MOBOT team. Below are the notes I took:

Additionally, during the whole semester, I always had my work done on time, if not early. Below are some examples:
