My name is Keith Hawkins and I’m a senior from Saint Louis, Missouri studying Criminal Justice at Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville. I’ve had the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through internships with both the Saint Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s office and the Illinois State Police, which has increased my knowledge and given me exposure to different sides of the criminal justice system. Those experiences have strengthened my interest in law enforcement and taught me the importance of professionalism, communication, attention to detail, and treating people with respect. I’m looking to bring what I’ve learned in the classroom and through my internships into the Illinois State Police where I can continue learning, serve the community, and build a meaningful career in Law Enforcement.
