Dear Dr., Despain,
In order to achieve an A in CODE121, here are the goals I’ve set for myself and how I’ll show my progress towards them.
(8 b.) a. Uses clear organizational patterns and is skillful at presenting content cohesively. (15%)
Sometimes I don’t have the “right” type of deliveries or my approaches might be a little off. A goal I have in mind is to set aside my viewpoints or comfort zones and use more of a professional outlook on our studies. I will show this with clear communication in class and confidently speaking.
(9b.) Constructs insightful problem statements with evidence of relevant factors. (15%)
Constructing good, well thought out and penetrative problematic statements, not only giving you the problems but using resources like the internet, research papers, library, slideshows or a physical project with pictures to give you answers to the “wicked” problems. I would like to get better at presenting physical projects and my public speaking skills. I will show this by presenting evidence in pictures of my work and outlines.
(4a) adapts and applies a deep understanding of multiple world views, experiences, and power structures while initiating meaningful interactions with other cultures to address significant global problems. (15%)
I want to be able to not only learn about the culture but also read with a better understanding, and to do that I am going to spend time out of the classroom learning about people’s culture and background. I’ll show this on my EPortfolio with pictures and artifacts as well, with that information it will help our classroom studies as well.
(11a) Evaluates text scholarly significance to apply reading to other contacts or issues. (15%)
I want to be able to read and elaborate on certain things that we learn about. I will read the materials provided. I will have evidence of this by research/studying them and use resources such as flashcards, note taking, annotating, highlighting and pictures.
13: Collaboration (20%)
I want to work on my skills as a group member in small group assignments and activities. So, I will make sure I take on different types of group roles, such as note-taker, information-finder, presenter of findings, group leader, etc. As evidence, I will document my different roles in different activities and assignments, and I will describe these roles and activities when I add my work to the ePortfolio
– Sincerely Kyra
