Dear Dr. Aranda,
In order to achieve an A in this course here are the goals I’ve set for myself and how I’ll show my progress towards them.
(4) Global Learning (25%)
With this goal I plan to; Engage in both readings and class discussions to learn about multiple worldviews, cultures and experiences, prepare for class discussions on global issues, choose 2-3 reflections that reflect my discussions on certain global issues. I will use the summary, and reflections will reflect on issues from our research report, attend and actively participate in at least 95% of class sessions, complete all weekly reflections on time and answer questions fully to the best of my abilities, be prepared for class sessions.
(5) Information Literacy (25%)
I chose this goal because I want to become more versed on Information literacy and I will show my work towards this goal by; Collaborate with research group to develop a research question/ hypothesis, analyze various sources of evidence for the research report, use our research report – research question, research report – literature review and analysis, research report – Reference page, I will also show my Annotated Bibliography, and perform “Excellent” work according to the research report rubric . Lastly, I will perform “Excellent” on the pre-assignments for the research report (e.g., annotated bibliography)
(9) Problem-Solving Skills (25%)
I chose this goal to work on my problem-solving skills, and with working in groups for projects this goal will be very helpful. I plan on showing this goal through; class lectures on course content to learn how to solve problems. No matter what I score on exams I will show how I studied the lecture content for those unit exams and show jigsaws as well. Because unit exams are each only worth 5% of my total grade, I do not want to put a lot on those exams in context with my goals.
(10) Quantitative Literacy (25%)
This goal will be helpful for quantitative reports or worksheets that we work with, I plan on showing this goal through; class lectures and work to learn how to analyze data, analyze various sources of data for the research report and with that research report specifically the proposed experiment, and perform “Excellent” work according to the research report rubric.
(13) written communication (25%)
The last goal I chose was written communication, I want to work on my writing and understanding the readings that we will be reading. In order to show this work, I will make rough drafts for my reading reflections. I want to show this goal through many ways, and one is the final project, which is the big research report.
– Sincerely Kyra<3
